Couldn't find the name but did find: \ BANTIN (English) The son of little Bana (slayer). ---Source: New Dictionary of American Family Names by Elsdon C. Smith. also: \ BANTIN (Germany) Place name near Hagenow in Mecklenburg. ---Source: German Names by Hans Bahlow. That's as close as I could come to it.
