    3. BODEMER - couldn't find as given but did find: \ BODMER (Switz.) From place name "Bodmer" near, Zurich, Bodman on Lake Constance. Rudolf "BODEMER", Überlingen 1249. Also compares with BODAMER. In some cases Middle High German "bodem" (bottom) may be a root. Could also be a mutation of "BODEMEYER" (farmer in a swamp). ---Source: German Names by Hans Bahlow. Couldn't find SELLENBERG. However, "berg" means mountain or high hill so perhaps it is someone who lives on, or near a particular mountain or high hill. Ingolf WHERE ARE YOU???
