I am looking for the ancestors of Jerusha (Gerusha) SURGENER b. abt 1835 and died in April 1865, in Hawkins Co, TN. She married John JONES ca. 1853. Oral tradition says she or her family came from Scotland, but this may be incorrect. She seems just to show up as John's wife in Hawkins Co., and is not in the 1850 census there.
