Hi! Not sure if this is new or not as I've not been on but a short time. Found this will at archives in NC on my last trip. I'm not to good at reading the writing, but this is the best I could do. Jane IN THE NAME OF GOD, AMEN I Robert Surginer of Edgecomb County in the Province of North Carolina being weak of body but of perfect and sound Memory do think proper at this time to settle any worldly affairs, For which purpose I make and ordain this my last Will and Testament, Revoking all other Wills formally by me made or caused to be made, But do acknowledge and affirm this to be my last. I lend to my loving wife Catherine all my Land and plantation with all my stocks of Cattle, Horses, Sheep and Hogs, also all my Houshold furniture and Plantation. Utensils of every kind, During her Widowhood and no Longer; And at the Determination of her Said Widowhood it is my Will and Desire that my Son John Surginer shall have, Hold, Enjoy and (can’t read) all my said Land, Houshold furniture, Stocks of every kind for Himself and his Heirs forever. I give to my Son William Surginer One shilling (Can’t read) I give to my son Benjamin Surginer One shilling. I also give to each of my Daughters One Shilling Namely; Sarah Surginer, Olive Pope and Hannah Sikes.(?) Lastly I appoint my S. Son John Executor of this my last Will and Testament.
