Hi All My web page on Irish Surgenor facts has been updated to inculde approximate birth years on all Surgenor death facts, better navigation and quicker loading. No SPAM,s were generated from Ruby,s email address listings.! on her list. The SPAM,s are generated through the Roots Web Main Email Server.!!! using "WorldWide" Relay Sites.! Then using the Listowner at [email protected] Address for SPAM mailing. Darryl.
It has been brought to my attention that some of you have forgotten that Ruby no longer maintains our mailing list. Anyone who has a question concerning our mailing list should contact me privately at: [email protected] I will be more than happy to answer any questions, help with subbing and unsubbing, etc. Ruby took herself off the management of this list because she was being bombarded with a ton of SPAM because someone had harvested e-mail addresses off her web site, and put this mailing list upon a junk mail list. Darryl then attempted to run the list, and was also bombarded with a ton of Spam, so he handed the list back to Rootsweb to deal with and I understand that and applaud his efforts. Ruby and Darryl's efforts to stop the spamming of the list were eventually successful. I do not get very many Spam letters, however some are still coming through, and I am dealing with them. (Thanks, Ruby & Darryl for your help!) When I took over the list, there was nobody managing our list, except Rootsweb themselves. Each list has a utilities page which gives the manager access to the maintaining of their list. I am the only person with access to it, and have been the only one with access since I took over the list. We currently have 40 members on our mailing list. I intend to start sending more data to the list as I had intended to do a while back. I had an upgrade done to my PC, and in the middle of the upgrade, my hard drive crashed, so I have been working on getting myself back together. I hope to see our list grow more active soon. Hi Berny, What information do you have on your James that came to Australia, although most of the direct family that l am searching went to Canada, there must have been cousins, nephews and nieces left in the Ballymena area, there are a few SURGEONERS over here in Aust, being the descendants of Ballymena people. I have just rang the council, yes Kirkinriola cemetery does still exist and I have been given the location, which I was unaware of before. It's not my main area of research but I will pencil it in for a walk the next time I have time in the Ballymena area and the weather is good. Hi Sue, Yes I am aware of the Surgenors/Surgeoners in Australia and NZ. I know of one Surgenor family there that are definitely my family but they are not connected to the others (at least not yet). This Surgenor family is part of my direct lineage. I am not able to make the connection to other Surgenors in this part of the world yet but I agree they are probably cousins as they came from Ballymena. Especially if they are Presbyterians. The only notes I have for our James is that he went to Australia and back to Portglenone and then back to Ballymoney. I will be visiting a cousin in Ballymena next month and will ask her if she knows more. I have a bunch of questions to ask her and I hope to tie a bunch of the loose ends up soon. My cousin is very knowledgeable about our family roots. At least everything she has told us so far has turned out to be factual. Watch this space. Sorry. I see no connection between your Surgeoners and mine in Ayrshire, Scotland. Claude
Sorry, none appear on my line.

Kathryn, Sorry there was a typo in my last: Main SURGENER webpage index is: http://home.rmci.net/adamewa/index.htm I dotted when I should have slashed. Ruby
