    3. As regards the list, the fact that it is currently 343 lines long is not meant to imply the existance of 343 individuals. It shows the registration of 343 events pertaining to the Surgener family. Some of these events will apply to the same individual with the connection still to be proved. Jackson

    1. [SURGENER-L] Irish records explanation
    2. Jackson Eagleson
    3. As usual everything happens under the just in time theory, including my list of records. I should have taken a little more time to explain the content. The records are far from complete and are mostly from civil registry, church records or headstone information. Every entry has a date or approximated date in the birth field, when this date is prefixed with 'BEF' 'ABT' or 'AFT' the date has then been approximated from some other recorded fact on that individual, obviously ABT is the most accurate being hopefully no more that one year out either way. BEF is generally where a marriage has been registered and by subtracting 16 years you get the BEF date, but obviously that could have been any number of years earlier. My Surgeoner reasearch is driven by the fact that my grandfather (Eagleson) married a SURGEONER and my great grandfather (Eagleton) also married a SURGINER. My grandfather was orphaned age 12 and raised by other folk so I believe it to be a strong possibility the families were connected. I intend to collect information of birth, marriages and deaths up to around 1900 for sure and have these intact. New entries will be added to the web page as and when but only expect updates possibly every month (restrained by having to earn a living in someones employ you see). I will highlight new entries in some way. At present I have only collected marriage entries in a structured fashion, these have been collected for the years 1845 to 1864 inclusive for all of Ireland and the known name variant spellings, birth and death entry information has been collected so far in a hit and miss fashion looking for specific individuals.Burials, census and any other information have been logged as they were found. I frequently send to Dublin for copy register entries to prove parentage etc for individuals I am interested in, these cost 3 pounds Sterling and take about 4 weeks to come back, if anyone want me to include requests for them please contact me again by email. Hope this helps your use of the list Regards Jackson

    1. [SURGENER-L] Bernice Elizabeth Surginer
    2. Looking for info on BERNICE ELIZABETH SURGINER. She married Frederick Bayans May 1st, 1872 in Austin, TX. Died in Bastrop Co. TX December 23, 1883. Found them on a census in Bastrop Co. TX in 1880. On this census, Bernice states she was born in Mi. Father born in KY and mother in TN. Not really sure if the Mi stands for Michigan or Mississippi in this case. Thanks, Diana Jeffries [email protected]
