From St. Brides Parish Fleet Street, London, England. 19 years old to serve James Gerald. 5 years in Virginia. To continue. Further research from the LDS London IGI records show a George Sumpter christened to William and Elizabeth Sumpter 09/Feb/1699 from the same Parish. Could this be Henry's father and not Richard as some of us are trying to document. I have found no tie in with Richard other than they are from the same general areas of Virginia. In our Henry line there are lots of Georges and Williams but no Richards. Surely someone would name a son or Grandson after Richard Sumpter. I have tried without success so far to find a James Gerald in Virginia circa 1720. If we could find him perhaps we could find the above George.
