In a previous post, I discussed William Sumter purchasing land in the 1770s, and possibly earlier, along "Preddy's Creek" in the northern part of Albemarle County, close up to the Orange County line and Elizabeth Patience Sumpter, widow, living in Albemarle County across the county line from John Redd in Orange County.
