I was over at my Mothers the other day and was looking at her family bible and in it Gma Parlee Eoff Brown had written in that Letha Sumpters fathers name was Will Simpter. I know this was a mistake but found it very ineteresting to see it there and also he went by the nickname Will. This confused me when I first started researching because she wrote down nicknames and not all of the full names. Be sure when looking in census you also look for nicknames.
