To new and old subscriber's: A number of folks are showing descent from General Sumpter either directly or through his brothers and sisters. My question is exactly who are his brothers and sisters? Mormon records have them as: Patience, born 1729 William, born 1731 John, born 1734 Thomas, born 1734 (the General) Patience, born 1736 Edmund, born 1738 John, born 1740 Anne, born 1740 Dorcas, born 1742 Mrs. Penny Sumpter published a Sumpter family history that can be found in the Mormon records. She has them as Patience, William, Thomas, Edmund, John and Dorcas. The book, "The Gamecock" had them as William, Thomas, Patience, and Anne. Does anyone have any information that will clear this up? I would be very interested in what Jane Malone-George has in her outstanding files. Thank you evferyone for your help. Jim Sumpter
