I've just received the probate records (no will) on Isom Sumpter who died Feb 1833, in Owen Co IN. I had hoped for proof that Isom was the father of Littleton L. I have more evidence, but not proof. The record states, " Susannah Sumpter widow of Isom Sumpter and Loven Sumpter, Harvey Sumpter, and Jesse Sumpter heirs of said Isom." I believe that Loven is Littleton because: 1) Littleton has a middle inital L. 2) Littleton named a son Jesse 3) Littleton's son Jesse name his son, Loven 4) Littleton's daughter was placed under the guardianship of Harvey Sumpter when Littleton died. Can anyone shed any more light on this dilemna? Am I seeing what I want to see? or does this rationale make sense? Thanks for any assistance. Suzanne
