Recently, on the History Channel there was a program concerning invasions during war of these United States - the Revolution, the War of 1812, etc. On the part concerning the Mexican War of 1848, a man named Scott Sumpter Sheads (might be an incorrect spelling) was one of the commentators. Does anyone on the Sumpter web know this man? I am particularly interested because my great grandfather was named Scott Taylor Sumpter who lived in Boone Co, IN. Scott Taylor Sumpter had a brother living in Oklahoma named Jacob Dozel Sumpter who named a son Scott Taylor Sumpter. This could just be coincidence. However, the name Scott Sumpter is the same as my great grandfather and I wonder if we are related. Thanks for any and all help. Jane Sumpter Malone-George
