    3. ATTENTION: All SUMPTER list members. For the past four years in search of my ancestors, I've been collecting SUMPTER data and entering it into my Family Origins genealogy software program. For the purpose of generating activity and discussion, about every two or three weeks, I'm hoping to put different SUMPTER/SUMTER lines and/or family groups on the SUMPTER list. As a result of others joining the discussion and sharing their data, perhaps overtime, I will be able to put together a comprehensive SUMPTER/SUMTER database linking the majority the descendants to their immigrant SUMPTER ancestor. I have no intentions of selling the database or publishing a book; however, at some point, I will probably distribute the data to organizations for free use by other SUMPTER researchers. Such repositories could be: Ancestry.com; LDS in Salt Lake City; RootsWeb World GenConnect, etc. This post is a first in a series of posts for the purpose of generating activity on the list, possibly assisting descendants of this line and requesting additional information to complete family groups including soliciting comments on any errors. These posts are not intended to be the source documentation for any connection; rather, the information should be viewed as a clue to where/when the connections can be documented and for initiating further research. Ancestors of Robert Osborn SUMPTER and Erbin SUMPTER will follow later.
