PETE SUMTER-19799 Services set for Pete Sumter(name spelled without "P") set for 2 pm on Wed, March 28 in the chapel of Johnsons Funeral Home. Pete Sumter was 89, 124 Washington street, Pawhuska, Okla. He died Sunday, March 25, in the Pawhuska Hospital following an extended illness. Born Sept. 23, 1889, in Sallisaw, he was the son of Albert L. and Hester ( maiden name-sumpter) sumter. He was married to Callie Robinson on January 27, 1936 in Pawhuska, Okla. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Pete Sumter was an area farmer for several years prior to his retirement. Survivors include his wife, Callie Sumter of the home, one son, Russell Sumter of Tulsa: three daughters, Eva Segial of San Diego, Calif. Vera Stickovich of Anchorage, Alaska, and Georgis Madson of Stockton, California: one sister, Lela Overly of Tuttle, seven grandchildren: 16 great grandchildren and one great grand child.
