George Washington Sumpter Jr. was my gggg grandfather, the father of my ggg grandfather, William Franklin 'Frank' Sumpter who was the father of my gg frandfather Samuel Sumpter. According to my notes eorge Washington SUMPTER Jr. was born in 1824 in Franklin or Vigo Co., IN. He was married to Anna about 1842. George Washinton Sumpter was born about 1770 in Virginia.
