    2. If it is the site run by Percy Snow which you found, where Clement WEST has been "claimed", it means that a researcher has submitted his/her interest in Clement WEST & given Percy Snow details of his/her connection to him, & also details how anyone else researching the same person can make contact. We have "claimed" Ernest VANNS of Hadlow, Kent on the site, which is how we know. The parents of the Clement WEST to whom you refer appear to be William WEST & Alice (nee BLOWER ), both of Birmingham, who both seemed to have died in March Qtr.1892 RD Birmingham (6d 74 for Alice - aged 30 ) & ( 6d 94 for William - aged 36. ) On the 1891 census they a daughter Alice aged 7 & a 6week old baby Mary Ann. On the 1901 census Alice, aged 17, is a Visitor to Thomas & Catherine RICHARDSON in Aston, Birmingham. However, after finding the above information, we have found Eden C. WEST on the 1891 census, aged 9 months, born Cannock, Staffordshire, a nephew to John & Elizabeth WEST, both born in Birmingham, & Eden's parents Clement ( brother to above-mentioned John ), a Soldier, is also there with his wife, & mother of Eden, namely Edith (nee WHITE ) from Chislehampton, Oxfordshire. On the 1901 census Clement & Edith are in Aston Manor, Warwickshire, with Eden 10, Eva 9, Evelyn 4 & Edgar 1. On the 1911 census Clement & Edith are still in Aston Manor with Eva, Evelyn, Edgar & 4 more children, Robert 8, Frederick 6, Ivy 2 & Alice 1. Unfortunately, we have been unable to trace Eden. Sorry not to be more help, but at least you can rule out the Clement WEST on the British Home Children site. 3. Hi Marg, I did a quick search and found the following: Passenger lists leaving UK 1890-1960 - Index (Source: http://www.findmypast.co.uk/) Last First Year of Departure Destination name name birth Sex year port country port -------------------------------------------------------------- WEST E Unknown M 1893 Liverpool Canada Halifax WEST E Unknown M 1908 Liverpool Canada Quebec WEST? I listed the others just incase this didn't match up. Hope this helps at least.
