    1. Re: [SFK-UK] Researching DENNY in Great Bealings and Rendlesham, Suffolk

    3. Dear Pat, I was intrigued by your DENNY enquiry on the Suffolk mailing list. My interest is in the Knappett connection to Edward Denny. Edward Denny married Margaret Knappett on 3 May 1795, after the birth of Ephraim in 1793. Ephraim's mother was Edward's first wife Mary Ann Knappett. I believe that Mary Ann & Margaret were sisters. Edward married Mary Ann at Hacheson in 1788. He married Margaret at Hoxne in 1795 a decent interval after Mary's death in 1790. There were at least 8 children from his second marriage. All Edward's sons had names beginning with E, Ephraim (twice), Edmund, Ezekiel, Elias, Epaphras & Elisha. The girls got M - Mary, Martha & Margaret. I have found two marriages for him, so far no deaths or remarriages of his two wives. He next fathers a child with the lady he is living with, but she is said to have thrown him out when she discovered he was a bigamist. I know know the story from then to the present day, > > > Although I have only recently started researching this name I have had a lot of success so far and have been able to trace the direct line back to a marriage in 1795 of Edward DENNY( b to Margaret KNAPPET/NAPPETT.(b Campsea Ashe abt 1776) > > > I have no place of birth for Edward apart from Suffolk, he was born abt 1766, he appears in the 1841 Census, as an Ag lab. So far I have traced three children, all born in Rendlesham. Ezekiel abt 1799, Elias abt 1806, Ephraim abt 1793. The DENNY's like to give their children names beginning with E. > > Is there anybody else on the list researching DENNY? With the help of the Census returns etc; I have gathered together a presentable tree, I would love to be able to include a few photographs, but so far have only ones of the modern generations. I am hoping to present the DENNY family history next summer as a surprise retirement present to our son in law. > Pat in Lincolnshire > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
