Folks, Every week or so (or whenever the digest gets to about 20 KB), I'm forwarding to the List those posts that have been "gatewayed" from RootsWeb's SUFFOLK Board that might contain information of interest to List subscribers, and here's the current "digest" of such gatewayed posts. If you wish to respond to any of these gatewayed posts, please do so by clicking on the relevant "Message Board URL:" link and NOT by responding either to the list OR to my address as the digest poster. Board posters will not see your List response unless they are also subscribed to the List, and most are not. PLEASE also be careful about responding to any post and inadvertently re-posting the ENTIRE digest to the list! More information on RootsWeb's Boards can be found in the FAQs at: http://www.RootsWeb.ancestry.com/ , where you will also find a link to the Boards' "home page". If you have any questions about the Boards or what the following is, pls contact me off-list at: mailto:[email protected] . Thanks, Peter SUFFOLK List Admin. -------------------------------------------------- Re: Capel Family This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. I have been in contact with someone who seems to have a good knowledge of the Hines in East Anglia, but at the moment he is as much in the dark as I am. I see what you mean about the enumeration, so I have corrected that. Thanks Jim... -------------------------------------------------- Re: Capel Family This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Using these it is easy to find the birth of Alfred Bloomfield in 1920 - from which you can order a copy of his birth cert. Also it is easy to find the marriage of Alfred Bloomfield to Irene Sullivan - from which you can order a marriage certificate. Incidentally the marriage is recorded as in 1941. BMD also has the details for the birth of Paul Bloomfield in 1946 and David Bloomfield in 1948. -------------------------------------------------- Re: Capel Family This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Yes I have, as Salome married a year earlier than Sarah and had a large family herself. I have also ruled out Charlotte too. They would both have been nice easy answers. I've applied to see if I can get a birth certificate for Sarah, but not holding out too much hope. (The Clayton's House). Several of my relatives were studying there as well and that is where I got information about him. The house in Northgate Street, Bury St Edmunds is still there as well. You can view it on Google Earth. If you are interested I can give you the necessary information. I will see if it is possible to find out any more information for you but it will probably take about a week as I am very busy at the moment. There are 2 doctors locally who have an interest. One wrote a book about medicine in Suffolk and the other lives in the actual house where they all trained as apothecaries.I think you can find my email in the recent mailings if not I can let you have it. Henry Bloomfield (1825-1890) married Sarah Whitton (2C3R) in 1856. I have 5 children listed for Henry and Sarah but have not researched this family any further. The chances are there will be no immediate connection to your Bloomfield family.
