Hi Everyone, Hummmm. The move to Lancashire would have slipped by unnoticed by me if two children had not been born between the census. could this be the reason my grandmother and her sister were born in Lancs. and not in Ipswich? The marriage of my great grandparents, John Brett & Naomi Fulcher: 1875 4th quarter, Ipswich, vol. 4a 1324 The children: i. EDITH MAY6 BRETT, b. 26 Dec 1877, Whitworth, Lancs. ii. ELLEN CHARLOTTE BRETT, (grandmother) b. 26 Aug 1879, Halliwell Lancs. 1881 John Brett was living with his wife and two daughters at Cauldwell Hall Buildings, Ipswich. He was described as a carpenter. Interesting to note that early in the 20th century after the birth of my father (their 2nd child) my grandparents migrated to Canada. Grandma's sister married and migrated to s. Africa. Would the Brett move to Lancashire be the result of this same offer. Any thoughts about work for a carpenter in Lancs.? Thanks, Linda B.C. Canada
