    3. Hi Giles, Thanks for your reply. I know all about alternative spellings, LOL. You wouldn't believe how many I've come across for my surname Hadgraft. I think there was something like a dozen I've counted so far. :) My problem with my Ann Clemence is that although she married in Ipswich, she doesn't appear to have been born there. I know that there are quite a few Clements families around Debenham and Ipswich, however there are a lot of Clements burials in Ipswich for people that weren't born there. I've also discovered on the IGI that there is an Ann Clements b. 1758 in Haverhill. Although the names of parents for this Ann Clements in Haverhill don't appear anywhere in her descendants, but the Ann supposedly born in Wetheringsett to Henry and Ann do. I know that you can't really just go by this as not all children named there kids after their parents, but it was a common practise at this time. At the moment I want to confirm that there is a baptism for Ann Clements at Wetheringsett and then try and track down where her siblings went to and see if I can find a clue that way. 3. I would have serious doubts about the Haverhill birth it makes no sense for them moving to Ipswich. Wetheringsett maybe has anyone checked settlement papers for Ann? 3. Hi Ken, I've checked on a2a for to see if there are any settlement certificates listed, but none that I could see for an Ann Clements. Also my Ann Clemence had an illegitimate daughter Frances Taylor Clements in 1781 in Ipswich, 5 years before she married John Hadgraft. I have also searched for a bastardy bond on a2a as well, but found nothing. Yeah, I don't think the one in Haverhill is my Ann either. I have quite a few ancestors who have moved from around the Debenham area to Ipswich, so unless I find another baptism for an Ann Clements for around 1759, I think this might be her. Now to just confirm the baptism at Wetheringsett and try and establish a connection, LOL. 3. Hi Mike, Thanks for letting me know. If you find an Ann Clements born around 1758-1760 in your research can you let me know. I don't think she would have come from Essex, but you can never tell with how much they moved around. 3. Hi Michael, I was just looking through my database and realised that I do have a load of Clements ancestors from Essex. Mainly around Good Easter, Roxwell and Writtle area. Going back to: William Clements b. abt 1610 who married Alice Skinner on 30 Mar 1635 at Writtle. It's a fair way from Dedham I know. Let me know who you have managed to get back to so far and I'll keep an eye out while looking for my own?
