Can anyone help me with my BULL family from the Flowton area circa 17th C. They owned BOSS Hall*. I have a 10xggfather Thomas Bull ( with children Mary /Anne/Jane and Anthony all born circa 1610-20). Thomas's ancestors were a Roger Bull with brother Anthony and a few John Bulls with earlier marriages to BLOSS and FAWSON. Hoping someone has a tie to this family and can help me straighten out the generations and marriages. *Edw de Bordeshawe had resided at Boss Hall during the reign of Henry II (1216-72) It passed through a number of hands until 1545 when John Bull bought it from John Spring. Later vested in Thomas Bull , then John Bull and after him Anthony Bull ,who rebuilt the dwelling in the late 1500s. Anthony's widow Elizabeth ( Lambe) left it to her nephew Thomas Bull , the father of Mary Vesey(nee Bull) . They did not live at Boss Hall but owned the land. From her it passed eventually to her grandson Thomas Vesey whose daughter Elizabeth & then the granddaughter Elizabeth Broke (nee Beaumont ) inherited it after her mother's death in 1791. She eventually sold Boss Hall to Thomas Kersey of Whitton in 1821 for £5000 Boss Hall was destroyed in 1982. While digging for a further building in 1990 an ancient Anglo Saxon grave site was found, one of them being the grave of a noble woman. David Vesey Toronto Canada
