This has meant that _everyone_ needs to re-register on RW to be able to see the lists they are subbed to. If you've not done that, you won't be able to view a complete list of lists you're subscribed to. The link to unsubscribe/archives is broken, but the email prefs link takes you where you need to be. With the proviso that you *must* have re-registered with RW as detailed above. -- Regards _ / ) "The blindingly obvious is / _)rad never immediately apparent"

    3. Hi Brad Not so I am afraid You do not need to be registered with Rootsweb to subscribe or unsubscribe, or visit the lists archives, but do to see the list of lists you are subscribed to as you say But registering does make it a lot easier and enables various things to be changed to suit the user The archives were down for a couple of weeks but have been up again for a while and are available from each lists home page as are the links to subscribe/unsubscribe Archives are still being rebuilt but are presently back to 2004 so far Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) > RootsWeb (RW) changed pretty much everything earlier this year (or late > last year). It was not my intention to infer that the same was true for unsubscribing from the list. Conflation of two things occurring. Putting them in the same paragraph was a mistake, obviously. It remains, however, that the link is broken; It should end in /SUFFOLK/ not /suffolk/ A quick check seems to indicate the same applies to all lists. So replacing the list name with an all caps version of the name should work. Once at the right page, the links for (un)subbing etc. all work as one would expect. -- Regards _ / ) "The blindingly obvious is / _)rad never immediately apparent"

    3. Hi Brad Not sure where you are getting that from re capitals for the list name I can assure you the links work as they are for subscribing / unsubscribing, I have tested them Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) > It remains, however, that the link is broken; It should end in /SUFFOLK/ > not /suffolk/ A quick check seems to indicate the same applies to all > lists. I tried in three browsers. When I tried with caps, I didn't add the trailing '/', thereby changing the search rule. It's the / at the end of the link that causes the problem, not capitalisation. Mea Culpa. suffolk isn't the same as suffolk/, obviously. SUFFOLK works, SuFfOlK works, but as soon as that trailing slash is added, pfft. Doing so results in what amounts to a 404 (page not found) error. Letter case can be catered for (force search to all upper or all lower case), but nothing's idiot-proof. If only because idiots (me, in this case) are too ingenious. :-) Computers are too literal at times. IOW, PEBCAK & GIGO in action. Me/mine. The trailing slash appended problem seems to be common to all list footers. Also, it could help cut down quote clutter if the RW team put all the footer stuff below a valid sig separator, so it wasn't quoted by any half-decent MUA. However, that's a different issue. -- Regards _ / ) "The blindingly obvious is / _)rad never immediately apparent"

    3. Hi Robert If you have registered with Rootsweb you would see the lists you are subscribed to and be able to unsubscribe or put yourself on holiday mode (ie remain on the list but not receive posts) If you are trying to subscribe or unsubscribe using the old "request" address, no it won't work You need to use the newer subscribe/unsubscribe addresses, as found on each lists home page In this lists case :- https://mailinglists.rootsweb.com/listindexes/search/SUFFOLK Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 13/07/2018 12:01, Robert wrote: > thank you Nivard but I do know which lists I am subscribed to.
