(posting on behalf of Brian Salt, it was held as it was over sized, mainly as it included the whole digest, so rather than reject I have edited it down) Re: SUFFOLK Digest, Vol 15, Issue 20 MARIA MARTEN Hi Mick I am aware of Maria Marten’s story from a Sally Glynn in the US. Unfortunately, I can not tie her in to my branch of Martin family. Which is a shame, as it would have livened up the family history as all were agricultural labourers + all seemed to be very law abiding!,! Thanks for you enquiry. Brian > Hello Brian,Are you aware of or related to Maria Marten, murdered by William Corder, known as The Red Barn Murder of Polstead. He was caught in London and tried at Bury St. Edmunds in 1828. If you would like any more information please do not hesitate to come back to me. > Mick
