Dear all Peter has passed on the admin of the Suffolk list to me I, and I am sure everyone on the list will want to give thanks to Peter for managing the list so well in the past years ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As you all know the Rootsweb lists will close from the 2nd March 2020 The archives will remain searchable but in what form we do not know So as on other lists I have created a new continuation list on io groups If you are not aware of io groups, join the gang, I hadn't until a few days ago But I have been pleasantly surprised how good they are and I suspect you will too They operate in a very similar way to how Rootsweb lists operate, ie you join or subscribe to the list and will receive a copy of any post or reply made to that list But they also have better facilities for our use which I will expand on later I will send an invite to all present Suffolk list subscribers within the next day or so If you want to join follow the link, you may need to register with io groups (email address & create a password) but its free and a one off registration If you don't want to join, just ignore it Hope to see you all on the new list soon -- Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK)

Hi Carole I also want to join the Derbyshire list where my husband's ancestors were. I was about to join it when this news came that Rootsweb is closing the lists. I'd appreciate any advice you can give me re joining the Derbys. list on, presumably, IO.
