Dear Listers I am unable to trace two family members and am hoping you can help sort this for me, both are daughters of Charles Mortimer and Matilda Chaston and the youngest of their 7 children ANN GILLINGHAM MORTIMER born 12 Nov 1834 in Melton/Woodbridge, Suffolk, in the 1841 census she lives with her parents at Castle St, Woodbridge, Suffolk, in the 1851 census she lives with them at 12, Fitzroy St., Ipswich, and then nothing. Barbara Mullinger Mortimer Born 11 Feb 1837 in Woodbridge, Suffolk as with Ann she lives with her parents in 1841, in the 1851 census she lives as a servant to Sarah Claxton in Bath St., Ipswich, and then again nothing.     3. Go to familysearch and try location Canada. I've found a couple of Mortimers which might be yours. I keep being surprised at how many people did emigrate. Let us know what you find!     3. I'm sorry, Roger, that after a bit more digging, I've found that the Barbara Mortimer in Canada was born in Scotland.     3. I have found a strange entry on Ancestry. Barbara Mullinger d/o Charles and Martha Churton .Birth 11/02/1837. Place of Birth Mortimer in Suffolk. I also found Ann Gillingham 1834 birth and of same parents and place. They are Independent Religion. May help with the confusion as I found the marriage of Charles Mortimer to Martha Chasten. However, it may just help to muddy the waters. Regards, Helen

    3. Hi Roger, This is for Martha Churton. Birth December 4th 1830. Place of birth Mortimer Suffolk. Parents Charles and Martha Churton. Religion Independent. Piece Title. 1866 Woodbridge. Independent 1794-1837 Martha, Ann and Barbara were baptized 1st July 1837 It was a Chapel, Cutting Lane, Woodbridge, Suffolk. The Minister was William Jordon Somebody? I hope this might be of some help. If not just discard. It gave me some enjoyment while I try for one of my Suffolk bricks.
