Rikki Dickerson is my paternal line so i was wondering what you had on that person. I have come across a brickwall for a Daniel born around 1174 but in a different part of Suffolk. Thanks. I know he married a Hannah and they had a family, one of whom married a Dickerson. He was a farmer and a butcher and, I am told, also ran the Shoulder of Mutton PH in Assington: this may have been the present building which was first put up in 1832 as a coaching inn. I have not yet been able to any further back and any pointers would be much appreciated. > > TIA > > Rikki > > ------------------------------ > > Subject: Digest Footer > > To contact the SUFFOLK list administrator, send an email to suffolk-owner@rootsweb.com > > To post a message to the SUFFOLK mailing list -- suffolk@rootsweb.com, send an email to suffolk@rootsweb.com > __________________________________________________________ > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to suffolk-request@rootsweb.com with the word "unsubscribe" without the quotes in the subject and the body of the email with no additional text. > > ------------------------------ > > End of SUFFOLK Digest, Vol 13, Issue 18 > *************************************** >
Dear Barbara My son in law is Dickerson. I have only recently started to follow this line. His mother had paid Ancestry to put a family tree together that they claimed went back to 1060 but which I have not managed to prove beyond two generations from the present as the wrong surname for the grandmother had been used. From research I have done so far, this line was based in Tottenham and nearby areas of London having arrived there from Norfolk via Suffolk. It would be interesting to see what overlap we have. I know my son in law's father is keen to know the history but does not want to upset his wife by telling her that much of what she paid for is rubbish. Will be in touch once I have something more concrete and better structured.
