    1. [SFK-UK] MISSING PORTRAIT/S
    2. JAMES P
    3. I am still trying to locate a picture of Daniel Sutton Jnr (1768 - 1859 - Essex and, latterly, Tasmania )- son of Daniel Sutton [ the great small-pox inoculator ] Having tried every possible source in Tasmania - with a total lack of success ! I think I must revert back to his earlier home, and accept an image at a much earlier age. My only reference is a book - published 1913 - " Ingatestone and the Great Essex Road including Fryerning -Author : E E Wilde - published by Humphrey Milford - Oxford University Press - 1913, which on page 277 states : " There is still in the possession of the family a fine oil painting by Sir Joshua Reynolds, of Daniel Sutton, the inoculators, in the prime of life, seated, in plum coloured coat, knee-breeches, white silk stockings and powdered hair; also another portrait of him, one of his wife, and others of his children, and their descendants - all with the sharp-cut nose that is so marked a feature in the father and son, and most of them very good-looking" Are any of the correspondents to this list a member of the family, or know of any descendants who may be able to assist with locating one, or some, of the pictures referred to above. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated James P <jamesp006@optusnet.com.au>
