Hi, I am interested in Arnout Montgomery LOVE. No date or place of birth as yet but I suspect Sudbury. He married Eliza Crespigny HOLLAND in 1805 in Sudbury. This was her second marriage. Her maiden name was STRUTT and she was a daughter of William Strutt, the mayor of Sudbury at various times. Arnout died in 1812. He was an army man, in the 63rd Manchester Regiment of Foot, reaching the rank of captain. From the movements of the regiment I suspect he might have died in the Caribbean, at Martinique or Guadaloupe. There were two sons that I know of - Henry Meadows Battey LOVE, b. 1806 in Sudbury; and Thomas William Montgomery LOVE, b. 1811 in Sudbury. I have also seen Thomas listed as Thomas Richard Montgomery Love. There is a gap of four years between the boys so maybe other children I haven't found yet. Thomas married Adelaide Ferdinande Ghislaine Faubert in Brussels, Brabant, Belgium in 1834. He at least was non-conformist and I haven't tracked the marriage entry as yet. Henry failed his first probation year at the Royal Military Academy in 1820 and disappears thereafter from sight. Eliza, still a widow, is living in Queens Square, Bloomsbury, London. Is anyone else interested in this lot? Any information will be gratefully received. Carolyne Sydney
