WALTER FRANK VESEY My great uncle Walter Frank VESEY, 2345, Private, and his brother in law Horace Cooper, 2346, Private, were two of hundreds who lost their life Friday, the 13th of August, 1915 when The Royal Edward was torpedoed by the German submarine UB 14 in the Mediterranean. They were en route to Gallipoli, for the second landing there. They enlisted at Ipswich, Suffolk, The 3rd./1st.(East Anglian) Field Ambulance, R.A.M.C.
