    3. AG Potter of Framlingham I think came from Needham Market and had previously been a basket weaver. There were a family called Potter in Needham Market with connections there going back to the 16th century and probably earlier. In Needham market (which at that date was part of Barking parish) had a strong tradition of non-conformists. I know that I corresponded with both Carol and Pat about this in December 2005 & January 2006, during which I mentioned that there is a photo extant of Potter the basket weaver. I would also suggest checking the non-conformist records for Needham Market. Wishing you every success in your researches Giles Colchester, Researching COLCHESTER family, any spelling, any time, any place And PACKARD in Suffolk Date: Tue, 16 Nov 2010 11:39:25 +0000 (GMT) From: Carol Clarke <as41400@yahoo.co.uk> Subject: [SFK-UK] Old Unitarian/Presbyterian Chapel Records for Framlingham. To: suffolk@rootsweb.com ?I have had a small break through and now can confirm that my POTTER Family were Non Conformists. I have found the baptism of my greatgrand mother in the Unitarian /Presbyterian records for Framlingham. Unfortunately these records are only for 1821 to 1837 and to get the details on her father I need records which date back to 1800 to 1815. Does anyone know if these earlier records exsist?and if so were they might be found. Her father was WILLIAM POTTER and? he was born 1813/1814 in Framlingham. It is possible that his father was the WILLIAM POTTER born 1790 in Winston but who lived all his life in Framlingham as he too is baptising his children in the Unitarian Church. Unfortunately my WILLIAM was born just before the? available records start.? Anyone out there able to help. To: <suffolk@rootsweb.com> The Unitarian church in Fram is undergoing refurbishment at the moment. My husband was able to provide old photographs of the church showing the original railings (long since gone to help with one of the 'war efforts'), so new railing will be going up soon. Last Saturday a friend visited, she is _the_ person to ask about Unitarian Records so will phone her now :-) Pat ... ----- Original Message ----- From: "Carol Clarke" <as41400@yahoo.co.uk> To: <suffolk@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, November 16, 2010 11:39 AM Subject: [SFK-UK] Old Unitarian/Presbyterian Chapel Records for Framlingham.
