    3. I was once told by a Canadian Cousin that we are related to all Willsons who spell their name with two "L's" Curious as our Willsons originally came from Ireland in 1698. The line then continues from Scotland to New Jersey and then as Loyalists left to live in Ontario Canada where they live to this day. We also have Canadian Ellis Cousins who married Willsons and their children are said to have moved to Saskatchewan and Kewadin, Michigan. His birth was registered in Plomesgate in Jun quarter, 1841. He was the son of John and Elizabeth (Ellis) WILLSON of Framlingham. He was mentioned in his father's 1871 will as "believed to be in Australia." I found this note of him: > > Brisbane Courier Monday 8 August 1864 p. 2 > THE GAZETTE. > The following appeared in the Government Gazette of Saturday: > Appointments.-- Mr. William Ellis Willson, to be recording clerk in the Mitchell district, in the room of Sir John Creathorne Wilkins, whose appointment has been cancelled. > > I hope there would be records of a recording clerk. But any further leads would be welcome. Please note the spelling of the name with 2 "l" s. It is often transcribed as WILSON. > > What a good idea at this time of year.
