I wonder if anyone can help please I am researching the BROWNING CROSSMAN GARDINER line , my g.g.g.grandmother was Dorothy BROWNING christened 21st Sep 1777 at Ousden Her parents were Thomas BROWNING & Mary nee GARDINER I have found the following which conflict >From the online transcript of the Woolpit PRs http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~pbtyc/Den/Woolpit/Index.html I found C GARDINER Mary Henry & Christian 22 Sep 1749 (C being for Christening) And >From familysearch beta Name Mary Gardener Gender Female Baptism/Christening Date 22 Sep 1749 Baptism/Christening Place Sudbury, Suffolk, England Birth Date Birthplace Death Date Name Note Race Father's Name Denny Gardener Father's Birthplace Father's Age Mother's Name Christian Gardener Mother's Birthplace Mother's Age Indexing Project (Batch) Number I02011-3 System Origin England-EASy Source Film Number 898000 Reference Number I believe her father was actually Denny and the Henry is a misreading of Denny although I have not as yet checked the original PRs However the fsbeta shows Sudbury which is the part I cannot understand, I am inclined to trust the Woolpit transcript more than the fsbeta but can anyone offer an explanation as to the Sudbury part ? BTs to Sudbury perhaps? Any help or advice appreciated Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK)

Many thanks for your reply Brian I rushed off the post without thinking to check the LDS catalogue but did more or less suspect it would be the BTs This latest link to Woolpit is my first there but it seems to be a wholesome one This is on my fathers side of HAYLOCK & BROWNING , the HAYLOCKs from West Wratting Cambs and the BROWNINGs from Gt Wilbraham, Ousden and now GARDINER in Woolpit, I also have a new CROSSMAN connection to Stoke Ash So it seems I will be busy On my mothers side I have WELLS , BLOIS , CAUDELL , STIFF from Norton, Bury St Edmunds & Horringer How odd they should start off over 200 years ago not so far from each other and by a circuitous route meet up when my mother and father met in the early 1930's in Ealing Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) > Nivard Ovington <ovington1@sky.com> wrote: >> I am researching the BROWNING CROSSMAN GARDINER line , my >> g.g.g.grandmother was Dorothy BROWNING christened 21st Sep 1777 at >> Ousden >> Her parents were Thomas BROWNING & Mary nee GARDINER >> I have found the following <snip> >>> From familysearch beta > <snip> > >> Source Film Number 898000 > > Nivard > >>From the Family History Library Catalog this film number relates to >>Bishop's > transcripts for the Archdeaconry of Sudbury, 1560-1853 so I guess that > this > is where Sudbury came from.
