    3. Hi Pat, That was very interesting. William Spanton Jnr, was a photographer like his father and it was interesting to see that H I Jarman was also living at the same address maybe they were linked my marriage. William Jnr died in 1930 so I wonder if Jarman took over when William died. I saw the Jarman Spanton collection online and there are some great photo's. Thank again this is great information to have. ----- Original Message ----- From: Patricia Bridges<mailto:patricia@bridgessuffolk.plus.com> To: suffolk@rootsweb.com<mailto:suffolk@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, October 06, 2010 5:33 AM Subject: Re: [SFK-UK] 1851-1861 census Bury St Edmund_SPANTON Lori, I have the little booklet, 'An Abbeygate Street Story, memories of Abbeygate Street in the 1920s and 30s' by Dudley White, in the index it shows that H Jarman was the photographer at number 16. On page 7 there is a reproduction of an advertisement for H I Jarman. It would appear that the famous Jarman photographers were a part of the extended Spanton family. I also found it quite interesting as I have a lot of old photographs and on the back they show "W.S. SPANTON Photographers, 16 Abbey Gate Street, Bury St Edmunds" So they must have had living quarters at they same place of their business..... clipped ........ ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to SUFFOLK-request@rootsweb.com<mailto:SUFFOLK-request@rootsweb.com> with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
