Hi Mavis Thank you SO much for your help. Since my request I have come to the conclusion that the name is definitely HOWLETT. I really need to check the marriage reg in Earl Stonham to check how it is spelt there. Your 1841 find is correct as I have found two birth registrations and two death registrations for Thomas and his sister who died in 1838. Both under the name of Howlett. I am amazed that you have found them in the other census' I could not find any trace on Ancestry. Maybe I need more sleep! Well done. I would love to have the information off line if you have the time. Thank you again Marj. -----Original Message----- From: suffolk-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:suffolk-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Mavis Dent Sent: Saturday, 2 October 2010 5:25 PM To: suffolk@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [SFK-UK] Earl Stonham hello marj, I have searched all Howell re Blacksmith's The one you thought may have come from Trimley, was a single man in 1851 so doesn't look like the one, if your Frances was married in 1837 The other W.Howell's were different wife names. I did note like you, a W.Howell born Trimley (note as above) but his wife was born 1841, but not a Frances. I did check though all the William Howlett, his wife all the way through the Census's starting at 1841 was Frances, starting at Earl Stonham also a son Thomas born 1839, so I think this could be them, William wasn't a Blacksmith though, but an Ag.Lab. I followed this William and Frances through every Census until their deaths both died Mar qtr. 1894 registered Hartismere. if you want to know the family and children I could help you there if you like to write to me off line.
