Hi Hilary, ALDERTON, PEDDAR and PEARL all crop up in my family tree through the marriage of Susan WARD of Old Newton to, firstly, James ALDERTON in 1775, then secondly to Robert STEGGALL in 1789. Robert and Susan's daughter Susannah Steggall married William PEDDAR of Beyton. William was the son of John PEDDAR and Susan PEARL.
