    3. I wonder.... A carpenter and joiner was a skilled man, and the 1891 address is certainly a nice house (I cycled down Rose Hill Road not 20 minutes ago on my way home!). It may be that he was out of area for work, but there was plenty of work for carpenters and joiners in Ipswich in the 1880s - not least on Rose Hill Road and the surrounding streets, which were being laid out at that time. I wonder if it could be a transcription error in 1881 which is keeping them hidden? I would be tempted to surf likely-looking streets in the Rose Hill, Foxhall Road and Woodbridge Road areas - they should leap out, really, if they are there....
