Hi all (I have posted a similar enquiry to Cambs list) I wondered if anyone might be able to help with my BROWNINGs I have long known that my g.g.g.grandmother was born in 1777 at Ousden Suffolk Her parents were Thomas BROWNING & Mary (unknown) Thomas is later described as a Gentleman Farmer of Great Wilbraham Cambridgeshire Their daughter Dorothy (or Dorothea) BROWNING was baptised at Ousden in 1777 but have no idea if she had siblings or what became of Thomas & Mary her parents Dorothea married Edward HAYLOCK in 1798 at Weston Colville, a witness was a Christian BROWNING I have much on the HAYLOCKs but virtually nothing on the BROWNINGs I have searched the normal places, Times, Thompson Gale Newspapers, IGI , Ancestry etc to no avail I have been putting this off until I can get to Cambs or Suffolk but that seems an unlikely event just now :-( Any suggestions anyone? There is only One BROWNING Recorded in Little Wilbraham Marriages, An Ethelreda in the 1600's and None at all in Great Wilbraham. Wonder if its a mistranscription? Honor Please don't judge me on what I have achieved, but what I have overcome. Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive well preserved body. Rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!" ________________________________ From: Nivard Ovington <ovington1@sky.com> To: suffolk@rootsweb.com Sent: Wednesday, 22 September, 2010 16:45:44 Subject: [SFK-UK] BROWNING Ousden circa 1777 Hi all (I have posted a similar enquiry to Cambs list) I wondered if anyone might be able to help with my BROWNINGs I have long known that my g.g.g.grandmother was born in 1777 at Ousden Suffolk Her parents were Thomas BROWNING & Mary (unknown) Thomas is later described as a Gentleman Farmer of Great Wilbraham Cambridgeshire Their daughter Dorothy (or Dorothea) BROWNING was baptised at Ousden in 1777 but have no idea if she had siblings or what became of Thomas & Mary her parents Dorothea married Edward HAYLOCK in 1798 at Weston Colville, a witness was a Christian BROWNING I have much on the HAYLOCKs but virtually nothing on the BROWNINGs I have searched the normal places, Times, Thompson Gale Newspapers, IGI , Ancestry etc to no avail I have been putting this off until I can get to Cambs or Suffolk but that seems an unlikely event just now :-( Any suggestions anyone?
