    3. Hi Nivard These three items from the Bury and Norwich Post may be of interest: 1802 April 28 (Wednesday) Cambridge, April 26. ... Yesterday se'nnight died, in the 25th year of her age, deeply regretted, Miss BROWNING, eldest daughter of Mr. Thomas BROWNING, farmer, of Wilbraham. 1803 Nov. 23 (Wednesday) Cambridge, Nov. 21. ... Thursday se'nnight died, after only three days illness, Mr. Thomas BROWNING, a respectable farmer at Wilbraham, in this county. 1885 July 28 (Tuesday) page 6 GLIMPSES OF THE PAST, No. 61. >From the Files of the Bury Post, January 10, ... 1798 ... A few days since Edward HAYLOCK, Esq. of West Wratting, was married to Miss D. BROWNING, of Western [sic] Colville, Cambridgeshire. By my reckoning, Thomas died on 10 Nov. 1803 and his eldest daughter on 18 April 1802, having been born in 1777 or 1778, but my arithmetic could be as unreliable as old newspapers. David Date: Wed, 22 Sep 2010 16:45:44 +0100 From: "Nivard Ovington" <ovington1@sky.com> Subject: [SFK-UK] BROWNING Ousden circa 1777 To: <suffolk@rootsweb.com> Hi all (I have posted a similar enquiry to Cambs list) I wondered if anyone might be able to help with my BROWNINGs I have long known that my g.g.g.grandmother was born in 1777 at Ousden Suffolk Her parents were Thomas BROWNING & Mary (unknown) Thomas is later described as a Gentleman Farmer of Great Wilbraham Cambridgeshire Their daughter Dorothy (or Dorothea) BROWNING was baptised at Ousden in 1777 but have no idea if she had siblings or what became of Thomas & Mary her parents Dorothea married Edward HAYLOCK in 1798 at Weston Colville, a witness was a Christian BROWNING I have much on the HAYLOCKs but virtually nothing on the BROWNINGs I have searched the normal places, Times, Thompson Gale Newspapers, IGI , Ancestry etc to no avail I have been putting this off until I can get to Cambs or Suffolk but that seems an unlikely event just now :-( Any suggestions anyone? 3. Hi David Hugely appreciated I can assure you I had already tried the Thompson Gale papers but did not find anything for Thomas or the eldest daughter, I did find the marriage some time ago in another publication but you did far better than I did I tried to replicate the search but again found nothing but after a little perseverance I found it, the OCR does not seem to like Wilbraham very much <g> I do now have a slight problem, in that the eldest daughter baptised 1777 is my g.g.g.grandmother Dorothy ! The others are Sarah baptised Ousden 1779 and a probable Harriet in 1781, no others are known of as yet I hope there is another older daughter or I may have a large problem ! Very much appreciate your help Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) > Hi Nivard > > These three items from the Bury and Norwich Post may be of interest: > > 1802 April 28 (Wednesday) > Cambridge, April 26. > ... > Yesterday se'nnight died, in the 25th year of her age, deeply regretted, > Miss BROWNING, eldest daughter of Mr. Thomas BROWNING, farmer, of > Wilbraham. > > 1803 Nov. 23 (Wednesday) > Cambridge, Nov. 21. > ... > Thursday se'nnight died, after only three days illness, Mr. Thomas > BROWNING, a respectable farmer at Wilbraham, in this county. > > 1885 July 28 (Tuesday) page 6 > GLIMPSES OF THE PAST, No. 61. >>From the Files of the Bury Post, > January 10, ... 1798 ... > A few days since Edward HAYLOCK, Esq. of West Wratting, was married to > Miss D.
