Hi Suffolk researchers everywhere, Amongst the many hundred of LAW, LAWE, LAWES and LAWS in our LAWS FAMILY REGISTER database, I have one Ermine S Laws, now they could be alive as they were born in 1936, but what I'd love to know whether Ermine was a boy or girl they had a brother Paul who was born and died in 1938 to parents Mr LAWS & Mrs LAWS formerly CANHAM for whom I can't find a marriage, the children were registered at Lothingland that's between Lowestoft and Yarmouth on Burgh Island. On another tack, my late father John Robert Laws was disturbed one day whilst standing in Hadleigh churchyard and looking down he found he was standing next to a grave with his name on, this John Robert LAWS 1881-1957 belonged to Sudbury but I've yet to discover anything about him. My mother who still lives in the area, told me once that my dad was an unsung local hero, it would appear that he rescued a woman from the River Brett, I've never discovered the circumstances, there was nothing in his personal effects, and knowing him for the man he was, it would have been not in his nature to brag about it, during WWII he was a bomber pilot with 158 squadron also a time he never talked about.
