All The Suffolk Record Offices have a copy of the Memorial Inscriptions for Stowlangtoft on microfilm. These were part of a project undertaken by Charles Partridge (see http://www.stowmarket-history.co.uk/charles_partridge.htm) in the first part of the 20th century so even if your search of the graveyard is not fruitful you may find that the grave was in existence at that time. <snip> > I am hoping that the records for Stowlangtoft and Tostock are in the > Sussex Record Office and not locked in the churches or something. Although there were a few that hadn't found their way there a few years ago due to reticent incumbents, most of the missing registers were rounded up and have been placed on microfiche. The Suffolk Record Office is the official repositary for the Diocese. Brian

    3. Thank you Brian. I have contacted the Record Office at Bury St Edmunds and will book a fiche reader and roll film reader nearer the time. One side of my family - the CLOVER family owned DRINKSTONE WINDMILL. I know a couple called HAYWARD renovated it but then moved to Scotland. Who owns it now and is it open to the public or does someone live there. I believe English Heritage gave them a grant so perhaps it is owned or run by them. Another place I would love to visit. 3. As you recall I was the Secretary of FODMAM (Friends of Drinkstone Mills and Meadows). Unfortunately it is not open to the public regularly, although it does open from time to time. I would suggest contacting the Woolpit Local History Group to see if they can tell you more. Pat ... From: "shirley bond" <sj.bond@onyxnet.co.uk> > Thank you Brian.
