Hi listers, I have particulars of a marriage entry which is on Microfiche at Suffolk Records Office at Bury Saint Edmunds. Unfortunately the office has advised that this is " too faded to be able to be copied." Do listers know if it is allowable to take image copies of these entries? Here is the entry details which I seek:- 1797 - June 11th 1797 - Thomas LEA of this parish, single man, and Eleanor SPENCER of this parish, single woman, were married in this church by banns this 11 day of June 1797. (Both signed). alternately the date may be 11th July 1797 (Saint Marys at Bury Saint Edmunds) Of course I would be most anxious to receive a clear readable copy as the signatures shown are almost certainly the only ones in existance. As a continuation of this entry I have obtained an image of the bride Eleanor Spencer's baptism record as an image file. This was also a very faded image, barely capable of being read, from Saint Nicholas Church, Feltwell, in nearby Norfolk dated 7th April 1776. This I managed to adjust the contrast which made the writing both very much sharper and clearer to read. Any helpful advice would be most appreciated, cheers Bob in Brisbane
