    3. Hello Jill Kelly's 1933 directory of Suffolk lists the newsagents Maurice & Laurence BARKER at 74 Beaconsfield Road, Kirkley [South Lowestoft]. In the 1925 edition they are shopkeepers (not necessarily newsagents) in Beaconsfield Road, possibly at number 74, although this is not stated. In 1901, carter William BARKER (52, b. Lowestoft) and his wife Alice (37, b. London 1863-64) were living at 8 Alexandra Road, Pakefield, with five children, including Maurice (14, b. Lowestoft 1886-87) and Laurence (2, b. Gorleston). These deaths were registered in the Lothingland District (Lowestoft area): 1943 Q1 Alice P. BARKER aged 79 (b. 1863-64) 1967 Q4 Maurice P. BARKER aged 81 (b. 1885-86) 1969 Q4 Laurence BARKER b. 28 Sep. 1898 The grave of widow Alice Pulfer BARKER (d. 9 Feb. 1943 aged 79) in the Kirkley Cemetery Index at http://www.waveney.gov.uk/cemeteries/kirkley/kirkley_abbott_boggis.html has the same plot number (K/GA/96) as that of a porter named William BARKER (d. 17 March 1926 aged 77).
