Happy New Year everyone (from China) I have been using an older version of Family Tree Maker for many years. I have version 6.0. SuddenlyI am unable to open my files! I have a message which reads: "The file you are trying to load is from a NEWER version of Family Tree Maker and cannot be loaded." Has anyone else experienced this? It is patently impossible that the files were created with a newer version of FTM since I don't own a newer version! I suspect that, internet conspiracy theorist that I am, my files might have been "adjusted" by the software maker in order to encourage (force?) me into buying an updated version. Unfortunately I am in China and, to the best of my ability to find such a thing, I cannot download FTM from the internet. Having software delivered to China is next to impossible too.
