Following this thread, I would point out that while many registers have now been transcribed by various organisations (usually for profit) the errors, typos etc., call them what you will, can be horrendous. The Parish Register fiche held by the Look-up Group contain the actual data - and we do it for free! All the more reason for using this board rather than paying out good money for sometimes very poor data! John McLinden
