    3. A timely warning to use or lose the List, Nivard. My inquiry on Dec. 19th. for birth details of Thomas Garrard brought one reply off list only, and I am still looking for the answer. Perhaps the date, 1712, recorded on his grave stone as the year of his birth is not correct, or his name on other records is spelt differently, Garrod for example, or the records of his birth do not exist. The first date we can reasonably be sure of is 19th June 1732, when he married Mary Everson at Thorndon. Yet Thomas was a successful farmer who left property at Saxtead and Framlingham to his sons and other bequests to family members. His considerable estate might indicate that he was, in turn, the beneficiary of his father's estate, but no such will, to my knowledge, has been discovered. Any help or advice on how to "bring him home" for his 300dth. birthday would be appreciated. Geoff Aslett geoff@asletts.com In Queensland, where the area of the flood now exceeds the area of France and Germany combined.

    3. Hi Geoff. Sadly sometimes the only way to find people from this time frame is to look at parish reg/fiche etc one by one. I do know that most if not all, of the early colleges at Cambridge held lands or the benifice of various parishes in Suffolk and Norfolk and other counties, There are number of Wills etc held within the Cambridge record office archives. The may not be recorded in the Suffolk record office records. Honor Please don't judge me on what I have achieved, but what I have overcome. Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive well preserved body. Rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!" ________________________________ From: Geoff Aslett <geoff@asletts.com> To: suffolk@rootsweb.com Sent: Saturday, 1 January, 2011 21:42:32 Subject: [SFK-UK] Thomas Garrard of Saxtead A timely warning to use or lose the List, Nivard.
