    3. Folks, Every week or so (or whenever the digest gets to about 20 KB), I'm forwarding to the List those posts that have been "gatewayed" from RootsWeb's SUFFOLK Board that might contain information of interest to List subscribers, and here's the current "digest" of such gatewayed posts. If you wish to respond to any of these gatewayed posts, please do so by clicking on the relevant "Message Board URL:" link and NOT by responding either to the list OR to my address as the digest poster. Board posters will not see your List response unless they are also subscribed to the List, and most are not. PLEASE also be careful about responding to any post and inadvertently re-posting the ENTIRE digest to the list! More information on RootsWeb's Boards can be found at: http://boards.RootsWeb.com/boardfaq.aspx#undefined , and the Board "home page" is at: http://boards.rootsweb.com/?o_iid=33216&o_lid=33216 . If you have any questions about the Boards or what the following is, pls contact me off-list at: mailto:SUFFOLK-admin@rootsweb.com . I am trying to find the names of my great great grandparents. I do not have much to go on but I have this information. My great grandparents were Harry Brown (possibly born 1867) was married to Agnes A Cattermole. My granddad Leslie Gordon Brown was born on 31-12-1929 and at the time they were living at Wenham Magna near Ipswich. My granddad was one of 5 children (Tony, Dennis, Joyce and Queenie who I believe died at a young age) If any of this information could lead you to find the date of Harry and Agnes marriage or the names of their parents. I would be very grateful. They moved to Aldeburgh in suffolk in the 40s and lived their to their deaths. Any information on their death dates would also be appreciated. I know its a long shot but any help or pointers you could give me on how to find this information would be appreciated. Many thanks -------------------------------------------------- Feavearyear Wingfield This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: thefawberts Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.england.sfk.general/8647/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi I have decided to trace my family tree starting with my family name, Feavearyear. I have quite a bit of info already but have a couple of things I need help with: Does anyone have any info on Absolom Feavearyear - there were quite a few! This one was born 1777 to Thomas Feavearyear and Dinah Batho. I have photo's of a summerhouse and vault which I believe was where he was burried, somewhere on Wingfield Green? Also, William Feavearyear born 1827 to (another) Absolom Feavearyear and Elizabeth Crisp. William married 'Mary Ann' and the 1881 census states his Occupation as 'Superannuated Police Officer". They had a son, Albert William in 1869. Mary Ann died in 1889 and William died 3 years later in Jamapuh, India at the age of 65. He is buried in Wingfield Churchyard. I'd love to find out what took him to India but have come to a dead end. It looks like the Feavearyears started off in Stradbroke/Wilby until Thomas Feavearyear (born 1713) moved with his wife (Susannah Rous)and children to Wingfield around 1747/8. It's unclear where they moved to as census returns from 1840 onwards are a bit vague with addresses but over the years they seemed to occupy houses at Wingfield Green and Town Farm (which is still owned by the family). Any info of how I could find out how they came to be there and when would be great. Finally, My great grandad, Ernest Feavearyear born 1887 to David and Rachel Feavearyear, was married to Annie K Richards. Annie died in 1940 aged 50 in a bicycle accident. Don't have any other info on her and would like to explore that too. I'm new to this so any help would be great! -------------------------------------------------- henry alfred potter crowfield This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: diamondlifestyle Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.england.sfk.general/8609.2.1.1.1.1.1.2.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: hi, are you sure your dates are correct? if so your great-grandfather was 62 when his son was born... your best first option is to try the census records, which were taken every 10 years from 1841. Harry Brown is a fairly common name, but try looking for Dennis or Queenie, there will be less of them around (hopefully!) That will give you where they were living and also where they were born. That way you should be able to trace back until you find your grandfather living with his parents. Good luck! Author: hobbes130 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.england.sfk.general/8609.19.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi Kate I wonder if you could look something else up for me. I have a bit of a mystery in my family past in the shape of a Joseph Sympson (Simpson) I am led to believe he was born 1614 Stoke by Nayland Suffolk, married an Ann Collins at Stoke by Nayland in 26 Apr 1640 died 26 May 1711 in Great Waldringfield, Suffolk. The mystery is his parents, every family tree link I have found here on ancestry (of which there are some 60 odd) his parents are listed as Rev Sydrach Simpson and Isabella Darcy. Sure a handful do not have parents listed, a couple list only his dad as Edmond Sympson but on some trees I have seen the Rev middle name listed as Edmond. This link must have been made somewhere however the dates do not add up to me. Isabella and Sydrach did not marry until 1638, Isabella was married before Sydrach to a John Launce in 1619 and Sydrach was married to a Priscilla in 1630. Now if Joseph was born in 1614 he was born out of wedlock when the rev and Isabella were just 16 years old. I would love for Isabella and Rev Sydrach to be his parents because if they are then I have some very prestigious ancestors linking me all the way back to King Edward III Unfortunately though it just doesn't seem realistic. Thank you for any light that you can shed on this. --------------------------------------------------
