For John McLinden, Is Bures Hamlet included in with Bures St. Mary or is that far enough away to be in Essex records? I am looking for my 2nd grgrandmother, ELIZABETH SHEAD, b. 8 May 1832/33 in Bures Hamlet. I would like to know who her parents were and of course any information anyone may have about her or her family. She married Samuel Beaumont and lived in One House, Stowmarket, and Bury St. Edmond had a daughter Emma that married Frederick Wilden and they had 7 sons and I think 2 girls that died very young. Hi Jean The River Stour runs right through the middle of Bures - indeed, it forms one side of the churchyard of St Mary. The north side is Bures St Mary, and is in Suffolk, the south side is Bures Hamlet, and is in Essex. Less than a stones' throw separates them. Onehouse is a parish which abuts Stowmarket - indeed, Stow workhouse was in Onehouse parish.
