G'day Listers The point I made in my previous message was that the transcription was wrong! Despite the abysmal hand writing and spelling by the original enumerator, to my eyes with glasses on, the surname was clearly WOPLIN in the scanned image! A blind man and his dog would have seen the "dot" above the one of the squiggles, and the "L" was clearly that, an "L". Another lister has also kindly notified me that a correction has been lodged with "FindMyPast' also to correct this error in their database. This error also sits in a wider family members web site, and famously most folks who have seen this data have accepted it as correct, unfortunately!
