Hoping SKS can help me confirm and add to the information I have for my gg grandfather Dennis TAYLOR, supposedly born Jun 1815 in Stanton, SFK, to parents Daniel and Sophia TAYLOR. Father Daniel was born c. 1786 in Diss, NFK. His wife Sophia was supposedly born May 12 1787 - I know not where. Dennis was located back in Diss by 1839 (ae 24) where he married in 1843 (ae 28) and died in 1899 (ae 83). Are their baptismal registers that show anything about Dennis to confirm this Stanton birth? Did he have siblings? I know of none. What was his mother Sophia's surname? Was she from the Stanton area? Were they married in Stanton? Thanks in advance!! Regards, Dennis

Hi Dennis I have ready access to the parish registers of neither Stanton All Saints nor Stanton St John but I do have access to some of the earlier Diss registers. I can confirm that Sophia D[aughter] of George TAYLOR & Eleanor his wife (late Eleanor BETTS spinster) was born on May 12, 1787 in Diss and was publically baptised there on Jun 8, 1787. Francis GOSTLING & Sophia TAYLOR were married by banns on 2 May 1809 in Diss.
