    3. Hello to all on the list. I am new here and asking for help with what may be a difficult problem. Some while ago a Mrs Audrey Butler from Lowestoft wrote to me for information about Frederick Giffard DOREY and his family, who apparently is in her ancestry and whose name Giffard is a rare example of the use as a Christian name. At the time I was unable to help her but now I have a great deal of information to pass on. Unfortunately my letter to her has been returned gone away. Does anyone know of her? I would be most grateful for any guidance, as I would like to help her. I would also be happy to hear from anyone who may be researching the name DOREY and its variants. Michael Dorey in Penzance.

    2. Hello Michael, I realise that after 18 years this message will probably not reach you, but I thought it was worth a try. I live in Macclesfield and have been researching men who lost their lives in WWI, adding the information to a website (Macclesfield Reflects). I have just been browsing through some back-issues of "Old Macc" magazine and found an article by a Chris Dorey, who "lives in Cornwall with her husband Mike" - I'm hoping that's you! The article includes a photo of Frank Warrington who was killed in WWI. I've researched Frank but don't have a photo of him so I'm hoping I can get permission to put the photo on the website with Frank's story, and also pass a copy to my colleague to use in a printed book and in local WWI exhibitions. If I've found the right family I'd be very grateful if you would contact me. Many thanks. Rosie Rowley www.macclesfieldreflects.org.uk
